NEEDS BIBLES! plays at the Philadelphia
International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. It runs on July
18 and 22, at 9:30 pm, before the feature CREATURES FROM THE PINK LAGOON.
The festival organizers compare it to PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, which
may be the highest compliment possible for a zero-budget period sci-fi
movie about the first evangelists to Mars. Click

J. Schirmer's urban feature screenplay CAN'T STOP earned a spot
in the semi-finals of the 2006 Hollywood Black Film Festival. Schirmer
was the sole screenwriter, and director/producer Kevin Coleman co-created
the story. Mary J. Schirmer is writing an urban script in collaboration with Coleman Entertainment and Stairway Productions. They plan an independent production. Mary J. Schirmer addressed the St. Louis chapter of Sisters in Crime, a mystery writers' organization, about screenwriting in September 2005. French Productions in Bellevue, Washington. JRF is one of the
leading production houses of audio drama in the United States. Their
four main series: Harry Nile, Sherlock Holmes, Kincaid the Strangeseeker,

All the shows are professionally written and produced, use professional
actors and are heard weekly on over 100 stations across the country
and via XM satellite. Sam Quo Vadis has been engaged by award-winning director Rich Newey of FORM ENTERTAINMENT to pen a thriller that Rich is slated to direct. Mary

Austin Hodgens has been hired by director Josef Rusnak (THE THIRTEENTH FLOOR) to do a rewrite of his next feature, VICTIMS, which stars JESSE BRADFORD (SWIMFAN) and is schedule to begin filming in August. VICTIMS is a psychological thriller about college students who begin to experience horrifying visions while undergoing a fraternity initiation. Snyder's new book, Save
the Cat: The Last Book On Screenwriting You'll Ever Need, has
been accepted for publication by Michael
Wiese Productions. "Save the cat" is the immutable
law that says the hero must do something to induce the audience to follow
him (i.e. saving a cat). Snyder uses examples from current and past
movies in addition to ancient tales to illustrate that what works in
any form of storytelling is a constant. In addition, he presents the
screenwriting method that he has used to write, sell, and option many

Jamie Nash was named a semifinalist
