Say not in grief
"he is no more" but live in thankfulness that he was. --
Hebrew proverb
The Screenplayers
are now experiencing the Dark Night of the Soul, a period in a screenplay
-- or in this case, our lives -- when all seems lost, because Screenplayers
member Blake Snyder died suddenly.
Blake was an accomplished screenwriter and co-writer, actor, and teacher.
He was a dear and genuine friend, book author, and joke-teller. He would
listen patiently, giggle loudly, and tell you honestly that your screenplay
idea was a train wreck. And then he'd offer advice on how to fix it.
More than 500 screenwriters posted condolences on his Web site within
three days of his passing. To have touched so many lives so deeply speaks
to Blake's generous nature. Who could fill this void?
May the angels and saints lead him to Paradise. May Eternal Light shine
on him, and may he rest in peace.
Blake, thank you for your time.
