"A Phil Byrnes Mystery" Radio Series:
Private Investigator Philomena (Phil) Byrnes runs the
family detective agency now that her husband, Peter,
has been murdered. Helping her is their assistant,
Buzzy (M.A.S. Buzzelli) and Seattle Police Detective
Jim Coleman.
"We both enjoyed the listen and definitely feel there's a potential star character in "Phil." She's a confident, cerebral and enticing character that likens to Angela Lansbury's character "Jessica" on "Murder She Wrote" but with a younger audience. We feel the show would translate to a fun, intelligent network series particularly popular with women ages 20-40 who we found have responded to strong female roles in prime time series (from "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" to "Gilmore Girls" to "Ally McBeal" and "CSI".) Thank you for the listen and we wish you continued success with the show!"

Episode 1: "Debutant In Danger"
Still dealing with her husband's murder, Phil and her
assistant Buzzy are hired to keep a dead-beat Mom away
from her daughter's debutant ball. But Daddy wants
Mommy kept away on a permanent basis.
Episode 2: "A Queen's Ransom"
A local strip club owner's girlfriend is kidnapped.
Rumors say a rival club owner is to blame. But the
rival, Stanley Zilka, shows up at Phil's boathouse
office and hires her to "find the dead man what's been
spreading rumors" about him.
Episode 3: "Stinger's Lament"
Everyone thinks a local barfly has been brutally
murdered, until he seeks out Phil. It appears someone
had borrowed his jacket and was wearing it when "he"
was done in. The question is, who was the real target,
the barfly or the guy who borrowed the jacket?
Episode 4: "The Faithful Wife"
(slated for production Summer of 2001)
A famous crime author hires Phil to uncover the truth
about a young man blackmailing him with a claim of
being an illegitimate offspring. What Phil uncovers,
instead, is a plot to get rid of the author's trophy
wife.
Episode 5: "The Blue Madonna" (slated
for production, August 2001)
Phil is out of town and young Buzzy is in charge of
the office. Everyone's favorite strip club owner (and
Mama's boy) Stanley Zilka hires Buzzy. Seems his Mama
has been arrested for possession of stolen Nazi art.
Episodes 6 & 7: "Waiting For Redemption"
These two episodes resolve the killing of Phil's
husband. Partially told in flashback they star Jim
Byrnes of the hit TV series, "The Highlander." They
are currently in editing and will not, unfortunately,
run on the web. |
