Marta Ze

Marta and Tom recently formed SPOOKY FILMS LLC to produce SPIRIT LAND and other supernatural films in Louisiana.

Marta's political drama script, THE VATICAN RATLINE (aka Daniel), was a semi-finalist in the 2001 Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting— placing in the top 2.3% of 5,489 entries. It was also a semi-finalist in the 2001 Chesterfield Writing Project.
In the aftermath of W.W.II, a young American priest is sent to Rome to photograph Vatican art.
He uncovers a Vatican scheme to smuggle Nazis out of Europe. To ensure his silence, they kidnap the child of the woman he's fallen in love with.

Her horror script, SPIRIT LAND, co-written with Tom Murphy, is about a love triangle between a man, a woman and a seductive evil spirit.
Determined to sell everything and sail around the world, Michael returns to his ancestral Louisiana home. But the evil spirit that's haunted him since childhood awaits... This time in a seductive guise. Michael must delve into the dark secrets of his family if he's to save his life— and his own soul.
Inspired by the legend of the Lilith, and the birth of a demon child. Lilith was Adam's first wife- cast out by God from the Garden of Eden, along with all her demon children.

Shortly after moving to Los Angeles, Marta was selected as a participant in the WGA Writers Training Program, spending six-weeks with the writers of Star Trek Voyager's last season.
Her novel, Blood Line, was a Quarter-Finalist in the Chesterfield Writing Project.

Before turning to writing, she worked as a graphic artist and photographer on film productions, and as a photojournalist. She's travelled to the former U.S.S.R, Europe, Peru, and Colombia.
Her photo essay of one of Colombia's charity mental hospitals has been shown in museums and galleries in the US and Colombia.

Marta is bilingual. She was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but raised in New York and New Orleans. She was awarded a WOMEN IN FILM/Universal Studios Mentor Scholarship and the Paul Verhoeven Scholarship as a writer in the Feature Film Development Program of the Los Angeles Film School.
