A name talent
in French-speaking Canada, Jean Pierre
is now based in Los Angeles, making a successful transition to the
American market. His credits include the role of Gil Macor on ALIAS,
opposite JENNIFER GARNER, and the comedy FREE MONEY in which he
plays MARLON BRANDO's wacky assistant.
In 2004, Jean
Pierre will appear in SEE THIS MOVIE, a featured produced
by Chris and Paul Weitz (AMERICAN PIE) and directed by DAVID ROSENTHAL,
and in the HALLMARK television movies JUST DESSERTS and A BOYFRIEND
FOR CHRISTMAS, both directed by KEVIN CONNOR.
Jean
Pierre just wrapped PROM QUEEN, yet another television
movie due to air in the near future. His other projects include
the play I NEVER SANG FOR MY FATHER, by Robert Anderson and HEART
AND SOUL, a film project with KEVIN CONNOR.
In French-speaking
Canada, Jean Pierre has appeared
in over 30 movies, including A PACEMAKER AND A SIDECAR, a classic
of Quebec cinema in which he played a mentally retarded guy desperately
in love with an older woman. His heartbreaking performance won him
kudos worldwide. Jean Pierre
has been a regular on 5 television series. In addition, he has worked
in the theater everywhere in Montreal including performing in GLENGARRY
GLEN ROSS over 3 seasons, to amazing reviews.
Jean
Pierre is extremely happy to get mainstream exposure
in America and yet at the same time he often makes himself available
for script workshops, table reads and shoots of low, very low and
very, very low budget independent movies.
"If the
script is good, I try to work out the rest. Besides, working with
people who are talented and just starting out is a way to invest
for later years, when they will be in a position of power."
