Armed with a few
friends and an old “Super 8” camera, Joseph
Calabrese spent most of his youth making short films. In the
1980’s and 90’s, he worked in various crew assignments on
several television, industrial and indy features in the North East,
as well as helming his own projects.
Currently, he teaches
a Screenwriting Workshop in NYC and is a freelance Digital Artist, expert
in Avid, FCP, 3D Studio Max, DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop and After Effects.
As a working Screenwriter,
he took 3rd place in 2003 Slamdance's Slam-Fi for his sci-fi, religious
thriller SECOND COMING. As a result, he received rewrite assignments
for the med-budget sci-fi comedy, HOW ILLEGAL IS YOUR ALIEN, and the
low-budget horror film, HOOKED.
